MED4EBM Participatory workshops: Establishing a stakeholder cooperation and coordination platform for implementing Ecosystem-Based Integrated Coastal Zone Management (EB-ICZM) in the Kneiss Islands Nature Reserve (Tunisia).

Three participatory workshops were executed in the framework of the Mediterranean Forum For Applied Ecosystem-Based Management (MED4EBM) partnership project, funded by the European Union in the framework of the ENI CBC MED program 2014-2020. More specifically, they are part of the Work Package 3 (WP3), aiming at establishing an Ecosystem-Based-Integrated Coastal Zone Management-Decision Support System (EB-ICZM-DSS) in Kneiss Islands area. 

The three participatory workshops involved the relevant actors and stakeholders and focused on a multidisciplinary analysis of the Kneiss ecosystem consisting in the recognition of connections within and across its ecological and human systems using the innovative land and sea management tool, developed by PROGES and called  Integrated Spatial Planning (PROGES-ISP),   that will help institutions and other interested parties in Integrated Ecosystem Management in making rational decisions on the planning and management of coastal and marine resources, coordinating effectively on the ground.

Ateliers participatifs du projet MED4EBM: Mise en place d’une plateforme de coopération et de coordination des parties prenantes pour la mise en œuvre de la Gestion Intégrée des Zones Côtières basée sur les Écosystèmes (EB-GIZC) dans la Réserve Naturelle des Îles Kneiss (Tunisie).

Trois ateliers participatifs ont été réalisés dans le cadre du projet de partenariat Mediterranean Forum For Applied Ecosystem-Based Management (MED4EBM), financé par l'Union Européenne dans le cadre du programme ENI CBC MED 2014-2020. Plus précisément, ils font partie du Work Package 3 (WP3), visant à établir un système d'aide à la décision pour la gestion intégrée des zones côtières basée sur les écosystèmes (EB-ICZM-DSS) dans la zone des îles Kneiss. 

Les trois ateliers participatifs ont impliqué les acteurs et les parties prenantes concernés et se sont concentrés sur une analyse multidisciplinaire de l'écosystème Kneiss consistant à reconnaître les connexions au sein et entre ses systèmes écologiques et humains en utilisant l'outil innovant de gestion de la terre et de la mer, développé par PROGES et appelé Planification spatiale intégrée (PROGES-ISP), qui aidera les institutions et les autres parties intéressées par la gestion intégrée des écosystèmes à prendre des décisions rationnelles sur la planification et la gestion des ressources côtières et marines, en assurant une coordination efficace sur le terrain.
